In Loving Memory of Wilma Louise Davis Jackson Wilma Louise Davis Jackson, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek, VA. Formally from Lansing Michigan and Phoenix, Arizona, she and her husband Raymond came to Giles County to be near their son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and the Reverend Diane Jackson of Pearisburg, who survive her. Surviving family also include her sister, Barbara Crouse of Grand Haven, Michigan; her grandsons, Donald Jackson of Hampton, Virginia and Peter Jackson of Las Vegas, Nevada and their great-granddaughter, Brooke Jackson, who lives in Goldsboro, NC. Prior to entering college, Wilma worked for Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Illinois State University, in Normal, Illinois and taught high school. She began a 41-year career as a medical transcriptionist in Phoenix Arizona, working at the VA Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital. These were some of the happiest years of her life. She will be dearly missed by her faithful friends and family. Her sense of humor and sense of caring made a difference in the lives of many people. Her last years at Riverview were enriched by excellent care from staff and new-found friends. A graveside service at inurnment will occur in Michigan at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Givens Funeral Home, Pearisburg, VA.
