In Loving Memory of Thomas Lee (Bud) Brotherton THOMAS LEE (Bud) BROTHERTON, 79 of Pearisburg, VA, passed away Sunday night, September 20, 2009 in Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Mr. Brotherton was born on March 21, 1930 in Pearisburg, VA and was a son of the late Fred Sheffey Brotherton and Mary Woods Brotherton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Lee Nester, one brother, Robert Sheffey Brotherton, Sr. and one nephew, John Michael Brotherton. Mr. Brotherton was a Korean Marine Veteran, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg, and member of the Giles Masonic Lodge # 106 A.F. & A.M. in Pearisburg and was a retired employee of Appalachian Power Company with 41 years service. He is survived by one brother, James F. Brotherton and his wife Margaret of Pearisburg, one niece, Marilyn B. Kingrea and her husband Jack of Pearisburg, two nephews, Robert Sheffey (Robin) Brotherton of Maybrook, VA, James F. Brotherton and his wife Jana of High Point, NC, three great nephews and two great nieces. Funeral services will be conducted, Wednesday September 23, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Dr. Brad Scott and Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating with entombment and a masonic service following in the Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
