Thomas Jackson Turner

Thomas Jackson Turner, 63 of Pearisburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Thomas was born on April 6, 1952 in Bluefield, WV and was a son of the late Jack Turner and Eva Bolt Earnest Litchfield. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Frederick Howard Litchfield, III. Thomas was a graduate of Wheaton High School in MD, was a former employee of the Asplundh Tree Expert Co., a former carrier of the Roanoke Times and helped a lot of the elderly and friends with their furnaces. He is survived by two sisters, Delores M. Hopkins and husband Herbie of Pearisburg, Gail P. Vanhoozer and husband Robbie of Frederick, MD and one niece Heather Crummitt and husband Ryan of Frederick, MD. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA with Charles Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Friday evening from 5 – 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses.
