Thelma Elizabeth Robertson Oliver

Thelma Elizabeth Robertson Oliver, 100 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Heritage Hall Rich Creek Nursing Home in Rich Creek, VA. Mrs. Oliver was born on October 24, 1916 in Craig Co., VA and was a daughter of the late Emmett Walker Robertson and Nettie Martin Robertson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Pharr Oliver, one son Richard Oliver, two brothers, Houston Robertson, Edward Robertson, two sisters, Kate Echols and Grace Robertson and one granddaughter, Betty Joe Oliver. Mrs. Oliver was member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Pearisburg, a charter member of the Pearis Chapter # 124 Order of The Easter Star and she retired from the Macy McClaugherty Elementary School in Pearisburg as secretary with 17 years of services. She is survived by one son, James (Jimmy) Walker Oliver and his wife, Pattye of Carrollton, VA, three grandchildren, James Nelson Oliver, Christy Brisson, Vicky Odom and five great grandchildren, Hailey Brisson, Hannah Brisson, Andrew Odom, Kaylei O. Margheim and Deion Oliver. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00am at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Philip Buttery officiating with burial following in the Ross Cemetery in Craig Co., VA. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 – 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the First Christian Church, 208 Fort Branch Rd, Pearisburg, VA 24134.
