Ruth Gay Johnston

In Loving Memory of Ruth Gay Johnston RUTH GAY JOHNSTON, 85 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord, Tuesday evening, September 7, 2010 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg.  Ms. Johnston was born on July 25, 1925 in Giles County, VA. And was a daughter of the late Edward Brown Johnston and Mabel Parcell Johnston.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Faye Johnston.  Ms. Johnston was a lifelong member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Trigg, VA, a member of the United Methodist Church Women and was a retired school teacher in the Giles County School System.  She is survived by one sister, Marie Johnston of Pearisburg and several cousins and friends whom she loved dearly.  Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 10 , 2010 at 3 pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Rev. Paula Campbell officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 2 – 3pm. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Michael Brackenrich and his nursing Staff, Dr. Scott Hayes and the nursing Staff at Carilion Giles Community Hospital, to the Staff at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek and to the Staff at Pulaski Health & Rehab for the exceptional care they gave to Ruth.  Also to Rev. Paula Campbell and the many friends who have prayed, visited, called, sent flowers and cards and their many acts of kindness during this difficult time.
