Mary Elizabeth Clifton Merix, 92 of Pearisburg, VA. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Merix was born on August 15, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Gertrude Harless Clifton. Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tyler Grayson Merix, one son, John Wayne Merix, her loving granddaughter, Angela Bird Sutphin, two brothers and one sister. She died in peace knowing that she was in the hands of our Lord. She spent her life caring for her family. She is survived by her son, Tyler Eugene Merix of Narrows, two daughters, Portia Gail Merix Bird and husband David of Dublin, Vicki Lynn Merix East of Pearisburg, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held, Tuesday, December, 4, 2018 at 2pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Pastor Robert Stockburger officiating.
