Mark Steven Williams

Mark Steven "The Count" Williams, of Spot Road, NC, died unexpectedly on February 26, 2024 from natural causes.  Mark was only 66 years old.  The family is deeply saddened and shocked by the sudden loss.

Mark was born on May 31, 1957 in Bluefield, WV and graduated from Giles High School in Pearisburg, VA and then attended New River Community College in Dublin, VA.  He moved to Houston, TX where he worked as an industrial electrician and later moved back to Virginia.  Mark could pick up pretty much anything he put his mind to.  He always tracked music, being the first to "discover" new artists and revive old ones.  He could come up with an appropriate lyric at any moment.

He loved his nephews and nieces and got to spend his last best years surrounded by all of them.  Angie, Jennifer, Sheffey, Katie, Cammy, Christopher, Heather, Matt, Julie, Oaka and Cora.  He also had a multitude of great nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly.

Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Buretta "Wuzzy" Johnson Williams and his youngest brother, Butch Williams.  He is survived by his father, Jack C. Williams (Hazel) of Blacksburg, VA, sister Debbi Evans (Reese) of Spot, NC, sister Jacki Mitchell (Mike) of Blacksburg, VA, sister Theresa Scarborough (Gerry) of Point Harbor, NC and sister Cindy McGuire (Kenny) of White Gate, VA

A Memorial service was held Friday, March 1, 2024, at 1PM at the Town of Pearisburg Park Shelter.
