Love Parr Witten, 91 of Pearisburg, VA passed away Friday January 20, 2012 in Roanoke, VA. Mrs Witten was born on February 13, 1920 in Russell Co., VA and was a daughter of the late James Moore Parr and Myrtle Jane Wilson Parr. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, James Alexander Witten, Sr. and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by one son, Dr. James Alexander Witten, Jr. and his wife Lois, one daughter, Jane Witten Koontz and her husband Donald of Sarasota, Fl, one sister, Lottie Parr Markin of Sarasota, Fl, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11:00am with Dr. Brad Scott and Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that any donations be made to the Pearisburg First United Methodist Church or the Giles County Historical Society.
