John Wesley Perdue

John Wesley “Wes” Perdue, 89 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2024.  Wes was born on August 14, 1934, in Giles County, VA and was a son of the late James Garfield Perdue and Minnie Gertrude Frazier Perdue.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister, Myrtle Perdue.  

 

Wesley was a retired employee of the Celanese Plant in Narrows with over 30 years service.  He attended Castle Rock Baptist Church in Pembroke, was an avid hunter, Spartan Football Fan and NASCAR racing fan.  His passion was his Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and his guitars.  He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

 

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Lee Foster Perdue, 2 sons, Russell Perdue (Teresa) of Ripplemead, Rodney Perdue (Cindy)of Narrows, 1 daughter, Robin P. Stafford (Rick) of Pearisburg, 4 grandchildren, Crystal Boggess (Mason), Ryan Perdue (Candice), Reggie Perdue (Courtney), Josh Vaughan (Allison), 8 great grandchildren, Rhea, Cooper, Allie, Tanner, Conner, Skylie, Sully and Parker, 3 sisters, Lizzie Johnston of Eggleston, Magdalene Rickborn of Greensboro, NC, Shirley Pannell of Fredericksburg, 2 brothers, James H. “Buddy” Perdue of Staffordsville, Dennis Perdue (Traci) of Vinton 

 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 1:00pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Rev Gary Poff and Charles Henderson officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2 hours before the service from 11 - 1 pm.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at givensfuneralhome.com.
