Ivan "Buddy" Glenn Bales, Jr.

Ivan “Buddy” Glenn Bales, Jr., 70 of Pearisburg, VA., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA.  Buddy was born on April 21, 1953, in Pearisburg and was the son of the late Ivan Glenn Bales, Sr. and Norma June Crosier Bales.  

Buddy was a 1971 graduate of Giles High School, where he played football, basketball, and baseball.  He then attended Concord College in Athens, WV playing football at the college.  Buddy loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing with his buddies at Castle Rock in Pembroke and at Giles Country Club in Pearisburg.  He was a proud North Carolina Tarheels fan and was hardly ever seen not wearing Carolina blue.  He also loved cooking for his family and friends.

He is survived by 3 Children, Christopher Troy Bales of Christiansburg, Ashley Marie Bales of Pembroke, Matthew Wilson Bales (Hannah) of Centreville and one grandson, Theodore Mason Bales.
