Earl Timothy Ratcliffe

Earl Timothy “Tim” Ratcliffe, 77 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2023, at his home.  Tim was born on February 19, 1946, in Canebrake, WV and was a son of the late Claude B. Ratcliffe and Myrtle Hankins Ratcliffe Jackson.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister, Judy Ratcliffe Harrell.

Tim was a member of the Pearisburg Church of God of Prophecy, a retired employee of the Town of Pearisburg, where he worked for over 30 years.  He enjoyed spending time with his family.  He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed the company of his many friends.       

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary “Peni” Jones Ratcliffe of Pearisburg, 1 daughter, Wendi Ratcliffe Griggs and special son-in-law Jerry of Pearisburg, 2 sons, Kevin Ratcliffe (Lori) of Shawsville, Terry Ratcliffe of Evington, grandson, Caleb Ratcliffe, special granddaughter and his best buddy, Hailey Griggs, 1 brother, Gene Ratcliffe (Cathy) of Pearisburg and special nieces, Hope Harrell and Keli Ratcliffe both of Pearisburg and special nephews, Jason Ratcliffe (Catina) of Pearisburg and Zach Ratcliffe (Taryn) of Radford, 2 brothers-in-law, Roger Bond (May) of Barren Springs, Tom Jones (Brenda) of Blueridge, 1 sister-in-law, Debbie Breeden (Jim) of Kearneysville, WV, special friends, Cleve Robertson of Pearisburg and Patsy Neice of Blacksburg and many other wonderful friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 2pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Pastor Bill Brown officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2 hours before the service from 12 – 2pm.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at givensfuneralhome.com.
