Dale Dwight Sartin, 69 of Eggleston, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC after a brave battle following a fire accident in January. Dale was born on March 24, 1953, in Pearisburg and was a son of the late Marvin Plyman Sartin and Glenna Louis Dowdy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and his wife, Marvin and Vicky Sartin and 1 brother-in-law, Richard "Richie" McCormick and his in-laws, Richard and Mickey McCormick. Dale was a 1971 graduate of Giles High School, a former employee of the Kroger Corp, and worked construction as a supervisor and iron worker at Mundy Construction at Celanese in Narrows. Dale grew up on the family farm where he later built a house and continued farming. He loved the outdoors, putting up hay, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie McCormick Sartin of Eggleston, 1 son, Ethan Dale Sartin (Sara) of Pembroke, 2 grandchildren, Kenzie Leeann Sartin, Kohen Lane Sartin, 2 sisters, Betty Imel (Butch) of Catlettsburg, KY and Connie Hennings (Paul) of Port St. Lucie, FL, 2 sisters-in-law, Kitty M. Cline (Chuck) of Dayton, Rena McCormick and 3 nephews, Brian McCormick and Wes and Cody Sartin. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2022, at 2pm at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with Charles Henderson officiating with burial following Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends Monday at the Givens Funeral Home from 12 - 2 pm before the service. Online condolences can be sent to the family at givensfuneralhome.com.
