Charles Claire Weaver

Charles (Charlie) Claire Weaver, 93 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg, VA. Mr. Weaver was born on August 25, 1919 in McDowell Co. WV and was a son of the late Firm Weaver and Ella Hankins Weaver. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Alice Smith Weaver and two brothers. He was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran with 40 combat missions in the Pacific Theater, a member of the Pearisburg First United Methodist Church, owner and operator of Weaver’s Auto Service in Pearisburg for over 25 years and a former member of Giles Lodge #106 A.F & A.M., the Kazim Shriners and the Pearisburg Lions Club. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Preston (Andy) and Janet Goode Weaver of Knoxville, TN, three grandchildren, Stephanie W. Cobb, Kristin W. Hill, Michael Weaver and two great granddaughters, Kathryn Cobb and Mary Elizabeth Hill. A graveside service will be held at the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11:00am with the Rev. Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg Sunday evening from 5 - 7pm.
