Ardelia Munsey Claytor, 62 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem. Mrs. Claytor was born on August 19, 1951 and was a daughter of the late Francis Lee Munsey and Sarah Munsey Tate. Mrs. Claytor was a 1969 graduate of Giles High School, an employee of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows, was a part-time employee of the New River Valley Community Services, was currently attending the Thessalia United Methodist Church and was a long time and avid member of the Giles High School Athletics Boosters Club. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Robert E. (Bobby) Claytor, Sr of Pearisburg, three daughters, Lori C. Riddle and husband Sidney of Ballard, WV, Lee (Sissy) Clark Shumate of Christiansburg, Eugenia G. Claytor of Ripplemead, three sons, Christopher W. Clark and wife Giselle of Dublin, Robert E. Claytor, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Pearisburg, David B. Claytor of Pearisburg, a half- brother, Bud Tate of Parkersburg, WV, ten grandchildren, Trey, Ariel and Olivia Shumate, Tyler and Audrey Riddle, Christian and Hunter Eads, Emma, Heidi and Huxon Claytor. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 17, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead, VA with Charles Henderson and the Rev. Shahn Wilburn officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Riverview Baptist Church Thursday evening from 6 – 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Giles Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 354, Pearisburg, VA 24134.
