Mr. Albert was born on
August 12, 1916 in
Staffordsville
,
VA
and was a son of the late Riley Hoge Albert and Elsie Brooks Meadows
Albert. Besides his parents,
he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Winifred Johnston Albert and
one son Barry Wayne Albert. Mr.
Albert was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the Giles Historical Society,
the Newburn Historical Society and the American Legion Post #68 in Narrows
American Legion Post #311 and VFW Post #6000 in
Narrows
. He is survived by three
daughters and son-in-laws, Doris & Eddie Williams of Dublin, Elsie
& Bill Fern of Mechanicsville, VA., Sonya & Boyce Falls of
Bullock, NC, one daughter-in-law Dixie Lafon Albert of Pearisburg, six
grandchildren, Sheila Meadows, Dreama Shultz, Scarlett Williams, Misti
Williams, Jason Falls and Jeremy Falls, two step-grandchildren, Sherry
Stafford, Charles Stafford, five great grandchildren and special
caregivers, Sarah Eads and Stephanie Hudson.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the
Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg at 11:00am with the Rev. Eddie Kendall
officiating with entombment following at the Birchlawn Abbey in
Pearisburg. The family will
receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 – 8
pm. Military Honors will be
given by American Legion Post #68 in Narrows American Legion Post #311 and
VFW Post #6000 in
Narrows
. Memorial donations may be
made to the Giles Rescue Squad or the Giles Humane Society.
