James "Jimbo" Michael Martin

James (Jimbo) Michael Martin, 68 of Ripplemead, VA., went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2021, at his home. Jimbo was born on September 24, 1953, in Pearisburg, VA and was a son of the late James (Jim) Melvin Martin, Jr. and Bernadette (Frenchie) LeClere Martin. Jimbo was a 1972 graduate of Giles High School and a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jimbo started working at Kroger’s at the age of 15 and retired there after 36 years. Jimbo loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He loved his family and was told by his sisters that he was Mommy’s favorite. He is survived by his wife, Debra Jane Sheppard Martin of Ripplemead, three sons, Michael Adams (Stefanie) of NC, Brian Adams (Danielle) of WI, Alexander Adams (Jennifer) of Christiansburg, two daughters, Christina Stien (Jason) of Anchorage, AK, Melissa Adams Hicks (Ehron) of Pearisburg, two sisters, Nicole Quinn (Cecil) of Chesapeake, Cynthia M. Widrig of Ripplemead, eleven grandchildren, three nieces, Misty Seda-Morales, Autumn Snider, Journie Widrig and two great nieces, Leeya Seda-Morales and Hallie Snider. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 2pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pembroke with Bishop Mark Bunker officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
