In Loving Memory of

Nancy Thompson Harrell

HARRELL, NANCY THOMPSON, 91 of Pearisburg , VA , passed away, Tuesday, May 12, 2009 in a Rocky Mount hospital following complications from a fall.  Mrs. Harrell was born on October 4, 1917 in Pearisburg to the late Fred Cunningham and Molly Woodyard Thompson.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert L. Harrell, Sr., one sister, Lucy T. Martin of Pearisburg and one brother, Joe H. Thompson of Gold Bond.  She is survived by one daughter, Jane (Bobby) Williamson of Galloway, OH, two sons, Herbert L. Harrell, Jr. and his wife Jane of Houston, TX,  Dr. Richard (Terry) Harrell, Sr. of Rocky Mount, two brothers, Fred (Jack) C. Thompson, Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Salem, John E. Thompson of Rich Creek, one sister, Pat Thompson of WV, five grandchildren, Douglas and April Suits of Bucyrus, OH, Deena and Ted Townley of Sioux City, IA, Kevin Harrell of Houston, TX, Richard and Tammy Harrell, Jr. of Rocky Mount, Crystal and Jason Stump of Dutton, Va., seven great grandchildren, Meghan and Tyler Suits, Lawson, Evan, Meredith Townley, and Taylor and Tanner Harrell.  She also leaves to cherish her memory many family members and friends.  She is also survived by one devoted nephew, Jackie Martin of Pearisburg, whom she loved like a son and two very special friends, Betty Crigger and Penny Sarver of Pearisburg.  Funeral services will be conducted, Friday, May 15, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg at 1:00pm with Dr. Brad Scott and Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.  The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church Friday before the services from 11:30 to 1:00.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at givensfuneralhome.com.
