In Loving Memory of
Marguerite Grace Compton Ahalt
AHALT, MARGUERITE GRACE
COMPTON, 93, formerly of Pearisburg and Vinton, passed away Thursday,
August 6, 2009 at Radford Nursing and Rehab. Center in Radford.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Paul Edwin
Ahalt, one son, Paul Frederick Ahalt, one grandson Frederick Whitfield
Ahalt, one brother, Paul Compton and one sister, Constance Kaylor.
Mrs. Ahalt was a homemaker, a member of the Redeemer Lutheran
Church in Pearisburg and was active in many civic organizations.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ahalt Brooks and her husband
Richard of Poquoson, her daughter-in-law, Georgia Ahalt of Afton, her
granddaughter, Paula Skulina and her husband David of Lynchburg, two
grandsons, James Brooks and Michael Brooks of Norfolk and her great
granddaughter, Reese Ahalt of Culpeper.
She is also survived by a special cousin, Freeman Funk of
Fredericksburg, her sister-in-law, Catherine Ahalt of Frederick, MD, her
brother-in-law, Maurice Ahalt and his wife Regina of Middletown, MD, her
niece Jane Crews of Farmville, her nephews Ed Compton of Myrtle Beach, SC,
James Kaylor of Port St. Lucie, FL. and David Kaylor of Atlanta, GA.
Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, August 10, 2006 at
11:00 am at the Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton with the Rev Linda Motley
officiating. The family will
receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg Sunday evening
from 6 – 8 pm. The family
would like to thank Pam Dowdy Bishop, her loving caretaker of fifteen
years and Daughter of the Heart for her dedication and service as well as
the staff of Radford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their
compassionate care in her final six years.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to
