Jean Givens Owen
JEAN GIVENS
OWEN, born December 9, 1932 in Pearisburg, died on April 15 in
Virginia Beach
, where she had lived since 1965. She
was the daughter of the late John H. and Winnie J. Givens. She was
predeceased by her siblings T. Cale Givens, Mildred Johnston, Nina Givens,
and Helen Givens. She is survived by her sister Anna Lee Williams and her
brother and his wife John Harvey Givens, Jr. and Gertrude P. (Perk)
Givens, of Pearisburg. Jean
was married to the late Gordon K. Owen for 26 years. Together they raised
three sons, The Rev. G. Keith Owen, II (Monica), Steven G. Owen (Becky),
and the late LCpl. J. Bruce Owen, USMC. Jean adored her four
grandchildren: Lyndsay R. Owen, Alison W. Owen, Joshua T. B. Owen, and
Rachel G. Owen. There will be
a celebration of her life and ministries at
Eastern Shore
Chapel Episcopal Church

on Sunday, April 26, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that
friends consider making gifts to the Endowment Fund of
Eastern Shore
Chapel Episcopal Church.
