: Viola went to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, March 24, 2007.
She was born on April 3, 1920 in
Giles
County
to parents Emme and Maggie Link Phleghar.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband and lifetime
companion Horton Fleeman and her sisters Hazel Meredith, Jewell Albert,
Geraldine Stevers and Mildred Pack. Viola
was a very devoted housewife and mother who loved her family very much.
She was happiest when she was taking care of them.
They were her life. She
took pleasure in cooking and even more pleasure in watching everyone enjoy
what she had prepared. She
loved everyone and expressed that love very openly.
She will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
She is survived by two loving daughters who cared for her and loved
her very deeply, Betty F. Lucas of Pearisburg, VA and Sharon and husband
James (Jimbo) Martin of Ripplemead, VA.
One sister Margaret and husband Donald Pack of Pearisburg, VA; two
grandchildren Natalie Hope Lucas and companion John Peoples of Pearisburg,
VA, Dena and husband Johnny Puckett of Christiansburg; one
great-grandchild Alexis Puckett, and several nieces and nephews; her very
special caregiver whom she loved very much Eloise Martin; and two special
neighbors Pam and Douglas Brooks. Funeral
services will be conducted, Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at 11:00am at the
Givens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Hewitt officiating with
burial following in the
Birchlawn
Burial
Park
in Pearisburg. The family will
receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home, Monday evening from 6:00 –
9:00pm.
