, formally of Pearisburg, went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning
January 11, 2007 at Bland County Nursing Home in Bastian, VA.
Mrs. Stewart was born on September 15, 1926 in
Waiteville
,
WV
and was a daughter of the late Roy and Kate McCormick.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie
Stewart, two brothers, Earl B. and Richard McCormick and one sister, Norine
Charlton. Mrs. Stewart is a
member of
Riverview
Baptist
Church
in
Ripplemead
,
VA.
She is survived by her husband
of 60 years, M. Darmon Stewart of Narrows, one son and daughter-in-law,
David and Alice Stewart of Pearisburg, one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah
and Tony Parcell of Narrows, daughter-in-law, Garnette Stewart of Roanoke,
one sister and brother-in-law, Alma Jo & Wilbur Cheatham of Bon Air, VA,
4 grandchildren, Brent Stewart of Blacksburg, Nicholas Stewart of Pembroke,
Adrian and Emily Parcell of Narrows and 5 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 13, 2007 at
11:00am at
Riverview
Baptist
Church
in Ripplemead with Rev Wilmar Wegner officiating with burial following in
the
Birchlawn
Burial
Park
in Pearisburg. The family will
receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 – 8.
