Mrs. Tyler was born on August
14, 1952 in
Palmerton
,
PA
and was a daughter of the late Joyce Lorraine Haydt Ziegenfuss and George
L. Ziegenfuss. Laurie was a
1973 graduate of
Palmerton
High School
, a 1977 graduate of the
University
of
Pennsylvania
with a B.S. in biology and did graduate work at
George
Washington
University
in Environmental Policy. She
dedicated her life in trying to make this world a safer place to be in.
Laurie is survived by her husband, James E. Tyler of Pembroke, her father
and stepmother, George L and Murray Ziegerfuss of Speedwell, VA and one
daughter, Amelia Joan Tyler of Pembroke, two brothers, Paul and Peter
Ziegenfuss. Funeral services
will be conducted Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the
First
United
Methodist
Church
in Pearisburg at 2:00 pm with Rev Linda Mitchell Motley officiating and
Rev. David Skole presenting the sermon.
The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in
Pearisburg Friday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Giles Memorial
Hospital Foundation dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of breast
