Mrs. Clappes was born on
January 08, 1942 in Sarah, Miss and was a daughter of the late James W.
Ivy, Sr. and Pauline Mosby Ivy. Besides
her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 6 brothers.
Mrs. Clappes is a member of the
Pearisburg
Baptist
Church
. She is survived by, her
husband George F. Clappes, Sr. of Pearisburg, one son, George Foster and
wife Anne Clappes, Jr. of Dublin, two daughters, Pamela June and husband
Chris McNeer of Pearisburg, Tammi C. and husband Jerry W. Sexton of Rich
Creek, one sister, Georgia Claire Ivy Caffey of Independence, Miss and
three grandchildren, Brooke McNeer, Hunter McNeer and Tiffany Sexton.
Funeral services will be conducted, Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the
Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg at 2:00pm with Jamie Hyden officiating
with burial following in the
Birchlawn
Burial
Park
in Pearisburg. The family will
receive friends one hour before the service from 1:00 – 2:00 at the
Givens Funeral Home.
