passed away on Monday, June 5, 2006 at his home in Pearisburg. Mr. Cruise
was born on June 9, 1925 in
Clinchco
,
VA
and was a son of the late Peter and Hester Moorefield Cruise.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter,
Karen Cruise Newcomb and one son, David Cruise.
Mr. Cruise was a retiree of the Giles County School System, a World
War II Navy Veteran, and member of the
Pearisburg
Baptist
Church
where he had served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Clerk.
Mr. Cruise is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen Beverly
Cruise of Pearisburg, one son, Robert Cruise and his wife Jennifer of
Springfield, two Daughters, Beverly Cruise Hueter and her husband Bill of
Marietta, GA, Sara Cruise Grochowski and her husband Ted of Roanoke, VA.,
one sister, Eva Cruise of
Martinsville
, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral
services will be conducted Thursday, June 8, 2006 at the
Pearisburg
Baptist
Church
in Pearisburg at 11:00am with the Rev. Jamie Hyden officiating with burial
following in the
Birchlawn
Burial
Park
in Pearisburg. The family will
receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6 – 8
pm. If you wish, donations may
be made to the
Pearisburg
Baptist
Church
