In Loving Memory of

Eva Earnest Miller Litchfield

LITCHFIELD, EVA EARNEST MILLER, 75 of Pearisburg , VA passed away Tuesday night, September 19, 2006 in Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg.  Mrs. Litchfield was born on January 14, 1931 in Dryfork , VA and was a daughter of the late Gaylord T. and Cora Lynch Earnest.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick (Fred) H. Litchfield, III, two sisters, Bertha E. Moody, Shirley E. Smith and one brother, Gaylord T. Earnest, Jr.  Mrs. Litchfield was the cafeteria supervisor for the Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland for 21 years.  She attended the Ingram Village Methodist Church in Pearisburg and helped her daughter deliver the Roanoke Times paper every morning for the last four years until two weeks ago.  She is survived by one son, Thomas Jackson Turner of Pearisburg, two daughters, Gail and husband Robby Vanhoozer of Frederick, MD, Delores Miller Hopkins and Husband Herbie of Pearisburg, three grandchildren, Thomas Jackson Turner, Jr. of Gaithersburg, MD, Shane Allen Hopkins of Woodbine, MD, Heather Lynn Vanhoozer of Frederick, MD, and seven sisters, Ada Lee E. Ratliff, Virginia Earnest, Clara Earnest, Edith E. Wudarski, Hazel E. Eaton, Dorothy E. Holsenback all of Pearisburg and Margie E. and Joseph Bean of Brooksville , FL.   Graveside funeral services will be conducted, Friday, September 22, 2006 at 1:00 at the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg with the Rev. Cindy Baxter officiating.  The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg Thursday evening from 6 – 8 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Ingram Village Methodist Church c/o Mary Gay Davis, 201 Forest Hill Dr. , Pearisburg.  The family invites everyone to the home of Clara and Virginia Earnest for lunch after the funeral.
