Mr. Woods was born on
November 5, 1924 in
Pearisburg

VA
and was a son of the late Robert Harrison Woods, Sr. and Margaret
Hawthorne Woods. Mr. Woods was
a combat veteran of the U.S. Army in WWII and was a recent resident of the
Veterans
Care
Center
in
Salem
,
VA.
He retired in 1986 from the
Radford Arsenal Plant in
Radford
,
VA
after 32 years of service. Mr.
Woods was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Gray Wheeler Woods, a
second wife, Frances Woods and a beloved step-daughter, Sarah W. Kirby who
passed away in 2001. He is
survived by a son, Robert H. (Rob) Woods, III and his wife, Brenda Pack
Woods, of
Bridgewater
,
VA
, a sister, Rowena W. Smith and Brother-in-law Everett Smith, Jr. of
Richmond. Funeral services
will be conducted Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 11:00am at the Givens
Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. C. Edward Pruitt, Harrisonburg
District Superintendent, The United Methodist Church, officiating with
burial with Military Honors by the VFW Post #6000 following in the
Birchlawn

in Pearisburg. The family will
receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 – 7:30 pm at the Givens Funeral
Home in Pearisburg. In lieu of
flowers, the family request memorial contributions to: the American
Diabetes Association, Virginia. The
family wishes to express their gratitude to the

Center
and the medical personnel at
