In Loving Memory of

Millard Junior Dickerson

DICKERSON, MILLARD JUNIOR, 81 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Pulaski Community Hospital. Mr. Dickerson was born on July 2, 1923 in Kimbleton, VA, Giles County and was a son of the late Millard O. and Mary Chapman Dickerson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Preston Dickerson, Robert L. Dickerson, Sr., Arnold (Pete) Dickerson and one sister, Estelle Banks. Mr. Dickerson was a WWII Army Veteran, a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Virginia Heights, Pearisburg, a was retiree of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows with 43 years service, retiring in 1987, and a member of the American Legion and VFW Post #6000. He is survived by his wife, Violet Elizabeth Anderson Dickerson of Pearisburg, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny L. Dickerson of Pearisburg, Stevie L. Dickerson and wife Tina of Blacksburg, two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Carol Dickerson Gray and husband Samuel S. Gray, Jeanette Dickerson of Pearisburg, and three grandchildren, Michael L. Dickerson, Ashley Nicole Dickerson and Sierra Renee Dickerson, 1 brother-in-law, Earnest Banks of Pearisburg, two sisters-in-law, Glenna Chapman Dickerson and Margaret (Poly) Chapman Dickerson, both of Pearisburg and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 28, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Pearisburg with the Rev. Michael L. Bratton officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 – 9 pm at the First Baptist Church in Pearisburg.
